Pilates was first founded by Joseph Pilates. It is a form of exercise that focuses on posture re-alignment, core strength and breathing techniques. In a nutshell, it helps strengthen your inner muscles as well as your outer. So, having the perfect physique on the outside doesn't necessarily mean that your inner muscles are strong. Weak inner, core and stability muscles can lead to short and long term injury such as back, hip and shoulder problems.
